About me

Implosion Quintet is a self-taught, music theory-less ex pat living in Norway. Old stuff focussed on an electro-acoustic palette, whereas the new material is more organic, composed instead in terms of contrasting texture – light vs. dark, dense vs. sparse. These tunes are deliberately rough, not through ineptitude or laziness, but more a reaction to obnoxious audio airbrushing, and a refusal to continually chase studio-clean values. Rough cuts hidden in the crackle and dust.
