Description
FROM THE ALBUM SPIELGUT_20
Each piece begins with a small collection of sounds which are processed and manipulated in real time through improvisation, the software I use doesn’t allow for ‘work in progress’ to be saved and so only the final recording survives to document each improvisation. Using multiple loops and controlling the frequency and nature of their playback/interaction I aim to arrive at a point where the sounds are ‘playing themselves’, like a malfunctioning automata, always close to breakdown. Once the record button is pressed I intervene as little as necessary, each piece becoming a snapshot of the improvisation, a slice of perpetual soundscape.
